F My Life is a popular website I imagine most of us are familiar with. It's a form of microblogging, where you write a very short story about why your life is awful, and post it. Every post ends with the acronym FML.
Of course there are knockoffs. Lovemylife.com just inverts the formula. I really appreciate My Life Is Average. It's a collection of average (but generally upbeat) stories. Here is an example: Today, I asked my three year-old cousin what she wanted to be for Halloween. Expecting to hear something like a princess, I was shocked when she told me that she wanted to be a ceiling fan. Favorite cousin ever. MLIA
But my new favorite is Makes Me Think, which features stories always beginning "Today...", and always ending. "Makes me think." Who doesn't enjoy thought-provoking stories? The top-rated story presently is this one: Today in downtown San Diego, I watched a blue collar Mexican man get harassed for being Mexican. It was a blatant act of discrimination. And the man actually began crying. As he left the office building, he took off his jacket. His t-shirt underneath read, "I love the USA!" MMT
It does make you think. So check out the site. Think a bit.

I'm sure you find FML much more amusing. :P but yeah, there are alternatives.
